Clinical Psychologist

Carol Rolston

Carol Rolston is a Clinical Psychologist who has spent the last decade of her career specializing in the provision of psychological therapies to help overweight and obese adults lose weight, and maintain their weight losses. For the last five years, Carol’s focus has been on the care and support of bariatric surgery patients, helping them achieve the behavioural, psychological and lifestyle changes necessary to ensure the best possible weight loss and quality of life outcomes from surgery.
Overweight and obesity are complex conditions, resulting from a combination of biological, psychological and social factors unique to the individual. Successful treatment involves understanding how these factors have combined to cause problems for each individual. Carol specifically targets these factors in psychotherapy, ensuring they no longer pose obstacles to an individual achieving an optimal treatment outcome.
Carol holds a Bachelor of Science degree (with Distinction), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with First Class Honours from Curtin University, a Master of Psychology degree (Clinical) from the University of Western Australia and a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and Psychology Board of Australia as a Clinical Psychologist and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, the Obesity Surgery Society of Australia and New Zealand (OSSANZ), the Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) and APS Psychology of Eating, Weight and Body Image Interest Group. Carol is registered both as a Medicare and Private Health Care service provider.
In addition to therapeutic interventions for weight management, Carol also provides treatment for a broad range of psychological issues including mood, anxiety and eating disorders, and psychological difficulties secondary to medical conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome. She is committed to providing outstanding care matched to the specific needs of her clients, within a supportive, respectful environment.
